Concussion Management

Virginia Beach City Public Schools has a concussion management program for middle and high school students in accordance with VirginiaSenate Bill 652.

Upon entry into a sport at the high school level, students in high-risk sports will participate in the ImPACT Program – a program used by the National Football League and Major League Baseball, along with colleges and universities across the nation. A baseline will be created for each of these athletes. Should there be reason to believe a concussion may have taken place, this baseline will aid in making a return to play decision.
