Tri-Campus Community Forum

We want your thoughts about the future of the tri-campus! Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) is gathering community feedback about the preferred delivery model for Diamond Springs, Newtown, and Bettie F. Williams elementary schools before building design activities start for a new Bettie F. Williams Elementary School.

Tri campus families should look for an email on September 9 that includes a link to complete a survey about the options. The survey invitation will come from [email protected]. Qualtrics is an online survey company. If you do not see the survey invitation in your Inbox, please check your clutter or junk folders. The survey will be available until September 25. If you have questions about the survey, please email the VBCPS Office of Research and Evaluation at [email protected].

As you may already be aware, a new Bettie F. Williams is approved in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and design activities may start as early as fall 2022. Before moving forward with the design using the current tri-campus delivery model, VBCPS is seeking input from the community to make sure this model is still the preferred option for our families.

Two in-person informational sessions were held in August and the content of those presentations along with a recording of the one held on August 22, 2022, can be found below. The goal of these sessions was to provide the opportunity to hear the history of the current model, learn about the potential option to change to a standard K-5 model, and allow for discussion and input on both of these options.

Stay tuned for information on additional information/input sessions (in-person and virtual).
