AlertNow

AlertNow sends important notifications quickly via phone, text or email about emergency situations, school delays or cancellations due to inclement weather and other school happenings. ParentSquare is the software used to send AlertNow messages.

As a parent or guardian, will I need to register or sign-up to receive notifications?
No, all parents and guardians of students enrolled in the school division are automatically enrolled.

How do I update my contact information?
Parents must contact the school office to update their contact information.

How do I change my notification settings?
Parents adjust their notifications by logging into their ParentSquare account at www.parentsquare.com/signin. In the “Register” field, enter the email or phone number that matches what the contact information they’ve provided to their child’s school. Once fully registered at ParentSquare.com, parents can click on their name, go to “My Account” and adjust several settings, including their language preference.

Is there an AlertNow app?
Yes. Parents can find the ParentSquare app in the App Store (iPhones) and at Google play (Android). In the “Register” field, enter the email or phone number that matches what the contact information they’ve provided to their child’s school.

If I move out of the area, must I request to have my phone numbers and email addresses removed?
No. If your child is withdrawn from school, your information is removed from the system.

How can I stop receiving phone calls from the school division?
If you are not a VBCPS family/staff member and yet still receiving AlertNow phone calls, please contact the Department of Communications and Community Engagement at [email protected] to have your number removed from the system.
