In a proactive effort to combat reckless driving behavior around school buses, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) has partnered with the Virginia Beach Police Department and BusPatrol to launch an enhanced school bus safety enforcement program to tackle the pervasive issue of illegal school bus passings and protect students.
Summer School
We are accepting applications for our 2022 summer programs.
We are accepting applications for our 2025 summer programs!
If you are a current VBCPS employee, notify your supervising administrator of your interest in summer employment. Summer school administrators submit summer hiring recommendations to the Summer School Staffing Office.
How to Apply for Summer School Employment
Step 1: Go to vbschools.com, click “Employment,” then “View Available Jobs/Applications.”
Step 2: Enter your username and password or click “Having Trouble Logging In?” to receive a reset password link to the email address associated with your VBCPS employment application.
- If you try to send the password reset link to your VBCPS email account and it does not work, try your personal email address.
- Current VBCPS employees, if you do not already have a transfer application, do not create one. You can apply for summer employment with a standard or transfer application.
- New applicants must create a standard application.
Step 3: All applicants must select “Summer School” as an applicant type.
- Do not remove your other applicant types.
- In the VBCPS standard employment application, “applicant type” is located at the bottom, right, corner of the “General Information” section.
- In the VBCPS transfer application, “applicant type” is located at the top of the “Current Employee Profile” section.
Step 4: Select “Summer School 2025” under “Employment Preferences.”
Step 5: Select your “Assignment” and “Location” preferences. You must select a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice for your assignment and location.
Step 6: Save your selections and log out.
If you followed these steps, your application has been received! You do not need to apply to a summer school posting, and you will not receive a system-generated confirmation for summer employment. This is because you updated your application but did not submit it for a specific job posting.
