VBCPS is offering amazing summer learning opportunity to all pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students who were enrolled in Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) during the 2023-24 school year!

2024-25 federal grant information presented to Virginia Beach School Board

The Virginia Beach School Board received information about proposed federal grant applications at its May 14 meeting. For the 2024-25 school year, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) would receive approximately $21.1 million in formula grant funds through programs authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).

Gently Used School Items

Virginia Beach City Public Schools employs various cost-savings measures in its schools, offices and facilities with the purpose of promoting environmental sustainability. One cost-savings measure is to take gently-used items that have served their purpose and resell these through an online public surplus auction.

Types of items that can be found at various times throughout the year for auction include:

  • Art Supplies/Equipment
  • Cleaning Equipment
  • Electronics
  • Furniture
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Kitchen Equipment
  • Musical Instruments
  • School Vehicles

To take a look at the items Virginia Beach City Public Schools’ presently has available for auction, just follow these easy steps:

  1. Go to www.publicsurplus.com.
  2. Under the heading Browse Auctions Within Area, first select Virginia as the region. Then select Virginia Beach City Public Schools as the agency.
  3. A current list of auction items and a detailed description will be displayed along specific information relating to each item.
  4. In order to bid on an item you must register to become part of public surplus.

No Virginia Beach School Board member, employee or any spouse or relative residing in the same household as any School Board member or employee may accept, bid or benefit from the disposal of any surplus property.
