Ocean Lakes High School

This Model Partnership began four years ago, with the purpose of giving business students on the job, workforce training. Ocean Lakes Students have worked in the Geico mailroom, as mail clerks, trainee switchboard operators in the Endorsement department, and data entry operators in Human Resources. These positions provide students with valuable job skills that reinforce lessons learned in the classroom. Geico employees also serve as mentors to the students, offering extensive training and support. Students prepare to transition from school to work by gaining experience with mock interviews, and on the job training. Geico staff reports that the only challenge they face is deciding which department gets to work with Ocean Lakes students. This Model Partnership ensures student success!
