Pembroke Mall and the Office of Technical and Career Education Since 1994, these partners have linked forces under the banner of Classroom on the Mall, a secondary "hands on" lab for learning retail operations and management skills, under the direction of teacher, Kim Creamer. Pembroke Mall provides in-line store space to VBCPS to be used both as a classroom facility on a daily basis and, less frequently, as a meeting space for administration and staff. Students work with merchants on activities related to advertising, marketing research and promotions, store window displays, secret shopper endeavors, mall operations, special holiday happenings and remote events. A very successful gift-wrapping business and fundraiser support DECA activities and competitions. This partnership has success "in the bag," the shopping bag, that is.  |
