Model Partnerships

Contemporary Art Center of Virginia and the VBCPS Fine Arts Program, Office of Instructional Services Beginning in 1995, these partners have worked to promote a greater understanding of and appreciation for, especially, contemporary art. This goal is accomplished, annually, through a spectrum of activities led on the school side by Fine Arts Coordinator, Dr. Anne Wolcott: professional development for approximately 150 teachers; the exhibition of over 400 students' artwork in conjunction with specially-designed projects; and programs and resources that support the VBCPS curriculum for thousands of students, such as tours, outreach programs, materials and exhibitions of nationally- and internationally-known contemporary artists. All of these elements add up to a well-composed partnership.  |
