Boys and Girls Club of South Hampton Roads and Williams Elementary School Annually, this partnership insures that 250 children, ages 5-12, have a safe and affordable after school program in which to learn and grow without ever having to leave the school grounds. Open Monday through Friday, until as late as 8 p.m., the Club offers age-appropriate programs and activities to students at Williams Elementary in five core service areas: Character and Leadership Development; Health and Life Skills; Education and Career Development; the Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation. Documented results in 2002-2003 show that up to 61% of students in the Boys and Girls Club at Williams are either on the Honor Roll or Principal's List, significantly more than in the school's general population. At Williams, the Boys and Girls Club of South Hampton Roads helps extend learning and fun long after the final bell rings.  |
