2002-2003 School Year
ACCESS-Tidewater Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
and Green Run and Bayside High Schools ACCESS exists to offer more high school students the opportunity to go to college by providing scholarships, access to additional funds, and a wealth of complimentary services: assisting students in both preparing for and paying for entrance exams; selecting, applying and enrolling in college; applying for financial aid from a variety of sources; and improving college preparedness. Begun in Norfolk in 1988 by Frank Batten and Josh Darden, ACCESS has helped over 22,000 students in the Tidewater region secure $80.7 million in financial aid and scholarship money. Since launching the Virginia Beach partnership in 1999, ACCESS has served thousands of our students. This program has been so richly rewarding that it was recently expanded to Landstown High and plans to expand to all VBCPS high schools within the next few years.  |
