Establishing a partnership begins with contacting the Department of Media and Communications Development for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools, 757.263.1337 or heather.allen@vbschools.com. The partnership coordinator at individual schools may also initiate the program. Once the initial contact is made, developing a partnership is as easy as:
Meeting with prospective participants to discuss the program.
Conducting a resource assessment of the prospective partners and a needs assessment of the school.
Selecting program coordinators
Hosting an orientation program for participants
Establishing mutually agreed upon goals and activities
Implementing the partnership program
