Partnership Activities

Virginia Beach City Public Schools currently benefits from over 2,200 businesses, military commands and organizations participating in the Partners in Education program. The activities they help support are as diverse as the participating organizations:

  • ABS Technology Architects donates equipment to and mentors high school students at the Advanced Technology Center.
  • Buffalo Beach provides on-the-job training for work experience program students.
  • Charro Grille sponsors the “Best of the Bus” recognition program at Three Oaks Elementary.
  • Food Lion opens its doors for field trips and donates resources to Woodstock Elementary.
  • Green Run Homes Association assists with volunteers, resources and special events for Green Run Elementary.
  • Jostens Renaissance program recognizes outstanding attendance, academics and other achievements at Salem High School.
  • Land and Coates, Inc. helps with advisory boards, job shadowing and technical expertise at the Virginia Beach Technical and Career Center.
  • Servicemen and women from the Navy Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center help with special events, school clubs and physical education activities at Princess Anne Elementary School.
  • The Noblemen distribute dictionaries to third graders at various schools and support/advise the Noble Teens program at Tallwood High School.
  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help Health Center residents visit with students and participate in special holiday projects with students at Rosemont Forest Elementary.
  • Virginia Beach Firefighters at Court House Engine Company #5 are well known at North Landing Elementary School for their school beautification projects and Youth Art Month fire hydrant design contest. 
  • Virginia Beach United Methodist Church members participate in an after school program to tutor and mentor students at W.T. Cooke Elementary School.
  • Athletes from Virginia Wesleyan College help students with reading at various elementary schools.
