Tallwood High Cathy Bowers has been named Volunteer of the Year at Tallwood High. Cathy works closely with the English Department, copying, collating, and preparing materials for English classes, creating a pictorial scrapbook for the Virginia Beach Association of Teachers of English. Cathy also serves in the school's library, assisting students and shelving books. But perhaps Cathy's biggest contribution as a volunteer has been creating a database for the thousands of books that belong to the department. Once the books were catalogued, they were labeled with identification from the database, making it much simpler for teachers to know where books are and which are available.
