At Cox High School, other members of the band boosters and the school's PTA say it will take a dozen parents to fill the void left when Jacinta and Buck Buchanan move on this year. Jacinta serves as Color Guard Mom, sewing flags, and helping with uniforms, equipment, and makeup. She has been vital to the Band Boosters fundraising efforts and as part of the Pit Crew that handles details during competitions. We have it on good authority that Jacinta even appropriated a Razor scooter to help her zip through Cox High's hallways.

As Ellen Myers, Hospitality Chair of the Cox High Band Boosters put it, "Jacinta has found the perfect solution for when she can't be everywhere at once: his name is Buck. When one sees Jacinta, Buck can't be far behind." Buck Buchanan has built shelves for the band room, attends every event, tapes performances, and, with Jacinta, picks up the rental truck, loads and delivers equipment to performance and competition sites, works in the Pit Crew, and brings it all back to school when it's over.
