2007 Teacher Orientation and
Continuous Learning Institute (TOCLI)

Each August, new Virginia Beach City Public School teachers gather at Ocean Lakes High School for the Teacher Orientation and Continuous Learning Institute, otherwise known as TOCLI. The 2007 edition of TOCLI will begin on Monday, August 20 and will conclude on Thursday, August 23.

The purpose of TOCLI is to provide the following for brand new teachers and veteran teachers new to Virginia Beach:

We look forward to meeting all our new teachers at Ocean Lakes High School on August 20. On each of the four days, the conference begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and concludes by 4:00 p.m. Registration on all four days runs from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. and is accompanied by a continental breakfast. Lunch is provided for participants on the first three days of the conference.

Participants will receive a conference tote bag, an 8 ½ X 11 portfolio with lined note pad, a TOCLI pen, books written by the presenters, and much more in the way of educational materials.

Day 4 of TOCLI, Thursday, August 23, will include time for new teachers to meet with their teacher mentors at their home school.
