National Board Certified Teachers

The School Board is proud to recognize the division's 24 newest National Board Certified Teachers. Let's meet them:

  • Sara Borges, second-grade teacher at Thalia Elementary School
  • Kim Burnette, English teacher at Green Run High School
  • Keesha Chatman, second-grade teacher at Birdneck Elementary
  • Jacqueline Cochran, fifth-grade teacher at Christopher Farms Elementary School
  • Barbara Duncan, English teacher at First Colonial High School
  • Kathy Ferrell, guidance department chairperson at Green Run High School
  • Rebecca Fritzinger, sixth-grade teacher at Old Donation School
  • Carol Holt, English teacher at Green Run High School
  • Rebecca Howell, third-grade teacher at Three Oaks Elementary School
  • Kelly Lepkowski, emotional disability teacher at Corporate Landing Middle School
  • Jennifer Nardelli, English teacher at Cox High School
  • Wendy Newman, sixth-grade teacher at Old Donation School
  • Amy Paulson, Title I resource teacher at Seatack Elementary School
  • Corbin Thomas Pinto, vocal music teacher at Bayside High School
  • Kristen Shuman, reading specialist at Windsor Woods Elementary School
  • Tania Vadala, third-grade teacher at Bayside Elementary School
  • Heather Williams, science teacher at Salem High School
  • Beth Wright, early childhood special education teacher at Princess Anne Elementary School and
  • Tara Yohe, special education third-grade teacher at Princess Anne Elementary School

Unfortunately, five honorees are unable to join us tonight:

  • Elizabeth Dupont science teacher at Salem High School
  • Adrienne Kravchak, gifted resource teacher at White Oaks Elementary School
  • Kathleen Mendoza, third-grade teacher at Tallwood Elementary School
  • Kathleen Scarano from Linkhorn Park Elementary School and
  • Elaine Shindelar, kindergarten teacher at Pembroke Meadows Elementary School

We did, however, wanted to recognize them as well.

These newest honorees now bring the school division's total of National Board Certified Teachers to 144 - the fourth highest in the Commonwealth.
