6. Student, Employee, and Public Awards and Recognitions

6A. 2006 Inviting School Distinction
The School Board is pleased to recognize Creeds Elementary School as a 2006 Inviting School, as designated by the International Alliance for Invitational Education. Accepting the award on behalf of the school is:
Robin D. Davenport, Principal
Sharlene Howell, Assistant Principal
Bob Bernhard, Computer Resource Specialist
Vickie Lynn Baker, Data Resource Specialist
Christine Banks, Data Research Specialist

Creeds Elementary School joins an elite group of schools around the world as a 2006 Inviting School/District. Selected by the International Alliance for Invitational Education, this honor is based on the implementation of an "invitational education" philosophy in a school or district. Invitational education asserts that every person and everything in and around schools adds to, or subtracts from, the process of being a beneficial presence in the lives of students. To be considered for this award, each school must demonstrate that the people, places, programs, policies, and processes all provide positive messages and intentions that make a school or district a most inviting place of effective teaching and learning. Schools, districts, and universities throughout the world compete each year for this honor. Creeds Elementary principal Robin Davenport accepted the 2006 Inviting School/District Award during the 23 rd Anniversary Meeting & World Conference in Asheville, North Carolina on September 22, 2006. Creeds Elementary is one of only five schools and districts in the United States to earn this distinction!

Please join me in congratulating Creeds Elementary School.
