6. A. District of Excellence in Child Nutrition Award

The School Board is pleased to recognize staff from the Office of Food Services as recipients of the School Nutrition Association’s District of Excellence in Child Nutrition Award.

The Virginia Beach City Public Schools’ nutrition program has recently been recognized by the School Nutrition Association (SNA) for operating an outstanding program. VBCPS has been named a District of Excellencein Child Nutrition. This prestigious award recognizes school districts that score 80 percent or higher on SNA’s Keys to Excellence, in covering nutrition and nutrition education, administration, communications and marketing, and operations. Serving 46,000 meals a day, Virginia Beach City Public Schools is one of only three school divisions in Virginia designated as a District of Excellencein Child Nutrition by the School Nutrition Association (SNA).
