Brent Mckenzie was elected to the School Board in November 2008. Since 2008, he has been employed by Norfolk Public Schools as a teacher. Prior to teaching for Norfolk Public Schools, Mr. Mckenzie worked as a Legislative Assistant in the Virginia House of Delegates and was employed by the Virginia Beach Commissioner of the Revenue Office.  Mr. Mckenzie is active in the Virginia Beach community, serving as a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Relay for Life, Little League, Virginia Beach Leadership Institute, and Virginia Beach Safe Kid’s Day. He is a graduate of Virginia Beach City Public Schools and earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Old Dominion University.
