A Brief Overview of Virginia Beach City Public Schools
Virginia Beach City Public Schools serves approximately 70,682 students and employs nearly 5,900 teachers. Currently, the school division comprises 57 elementary schools,
14 middle schools, 11 high schools, and 6 special purpose schools and centers.
Seven Critical Goal Areas
The Virginia Beach School Board has established a framework for the future of our schools. This framework is contained in seven critical goal areas. These goals are the focus for Virginia Beach City Public Schools as we prepare our students for the challenges of the future. The seven goal areas include:
