On Tuesday, June 16, nearly 200 elementary school students will make a splash at the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center as part of an annual Oceans of Success celebration. The event honors third-, fourth-, and fifth-graders who have greatly improved their academic performance during the school year.

Beginning at 10 a.m., students will be treated to a day of learning and fun at the aquarium including an educational tour of the facility; a 3-D movie on the center’s IMAX screen, and the opportunity to tour and observe the various exhibits.

The Oceans of Success program is being sponsored for the sixth consecutive year by former Chief Circuit Court Judge Thomas S. Shadrick and attorneys Jeffrey Breit and John Drescher of the law firm Breit, Drescher, and Imprevento. The program was recently honored as a model partnership by Virginia Beach Schools for its continued support of academic achievement.

The students who will participate in this celebration are from selected
elementary schools that include: Birdneck , Cooke , College Park , Green Run , Holland , Lynnhaven , Newtown , Parkway ,  Rosemont , Seatack , Shelton Park , White Oaks , and Williams elementary schools.
