Public Schools’ Web site vbschools.com has
a new feature specifically targeted towards members of the graduating
Class of 2009. This new feature – vbgradwall – allows
students, friends, staff, and family members of the Class of 2009
to post a note of congratulations, some wise advice, or best wishes
to a graduating senior. Each of the 14 high schools and centers,
with a scheduled graduation ceremony, has its own gradwall.
“Our
goal is to encourage an online forum for the creative and respectful exchange
of messages in honor of our graduating seniors,” said Hazel Jessee, assistant
superintendent of high schools. “With the availability of vbgradwall,
we anticipate a social network that could potentially focus on the merits and
accomplishments of approximately 5,400 members of the graduating Class of 2009.”
Posting a
message on vbgradwall can be accomplished by selecting the link Class
of 2009 found on the homepage of vbschools.com or
by using the direct link http://www2.vbschools.com/graduation. Messages
posted on vbgradwall will be available via vbschools.com through
July 31, 2009.
