The Virginia Beach Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) will host an informational meeting on Monday, April 20, devoted to the use of technology in the development of reading skills for students with disabilities. The meeting will be held at Landstown High School, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Presenters will focus on a variety of topics. Among them are Writing with Symbols, Visual Supports for Literacy, Tools for Students with Visual Impairments, Dyslexia – What Helps? and Read 180. Each presentation will be conducted by a staff member from Virginia Beach Schools’ Office of Programs for Exceptional Children.
SEAC serves as an advisory group for the Virginia Beach School Board on issues related to the education of students with disabilities. In this capacity, SEAC submits periodic reports and recommendations to the Board related to how best to meet the educational needs of students with disabilities.
