Virginia Beach School Board To Meet February 5

The Virginia Beach School Board will hold its next regular meeting on Tuesday, February 5, at the School Administration Building. The informal meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the einstein.lab. A workshop will be held to address the following:

  • Recommendations for Restructuring of the K-12 Summer School Programs
  • Board Schedule: July 2008 – June 2009
  • Early Discoveries Longitudinal Study Update
  • Review of Key Operating Measures
  • Program of Work: Board Committee Reports

A closed meeting will be held immediately following the workshop, if needed.

The Hearing of Citizens and Delegations on Non-Agenda Items will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. in the School Board Room. The formal meeting, which will be broadcast live on VBTV Channel 47 beginning at 6:15 p.m., includes student, employee and public awards and recognition, and a hearing of citizens and delegations on agenda items. The remainder of the workshop will continue in Room 113 after committee reports, if needed. The current meeting agenda and supporting documents are available for public review on vbschools.com.

Delegations and citizens wishing to address the Board on February 5 should sign up to speak on agenda items by contacting the Clerk of the School Board at 263.1016 by noon the day of the meeting and by 3:00 p.m. for non-agenda items. If you are physically disabled or visually impaired and need assistance at this meeting, please call the Clerk of the School Board at 263.1016. The facility is equipped with a hearing assistance system. Please ask the Clerk of the School Board for a receiver.
