Virginia Beach Schools Offers Free
Online SAT Prep Course

As a special service, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) has secured the rights to provide FREE access to the official College Board SAT Online to all VBCPS high school students. The online course offers students the opportunity to practice SAT test-taking skills prior to sitting for the actual exam. Letters explaining the program were mailed to the parents of ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders several weeks ago.

To have access to this online opportunity, students simply go to the guidance department at their respective high schools to request a password or code. This code will allow them to access SAT Online from any computer that is Internet linked, at school, home, or even at the library or an Internet café.

Another exciting opportunity created for VBCPS high school students is a new SAT preparatory course that will be available as a half-credit course beginning second semester, January 29. The course will be offered in all high schools and will be taught by VBCPS teachers. Students interested in taking the course should see their guidance counselors for more information on requirements and registration.

For information about SAT Online of the new SAT preparatory course, please contact the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at 263-1070.
