TheOffice of Guidance Services and Student Records for Virginia Beach City Public Schools is moving to a new central location.

The Office of Guidance Services and Student Records will open its doors on the second floor of the Commonwealth Building at 520 South Independence Boulevard at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 27. The new telephone and fax numbers, respectively, will be (757) 493-5429 and (757) 493-5437.

Charged with overseeing the school counseling program and related guidance services provided to Virginia Beach City Public Schools and students, this office also processes transcript requests for former students of the school division.

The Office of Guidance Services and Student Records encourages the public to initiate any requests for records by first accessing the school division’s Web site, www.vbschools.com, and finding the Schools/Centers category that will lead to the “Requesting Student Records/Current and Former Students” page. Once on this page, the “Records Release Form for Former Students” can be downloaded, completed, and mailed to The Office of Guidance Services and Student Records.

Each record request requires up to 15 business days for processing by Guidance Services and a $3.00 fee in the form of a check or money order payable to Virginia Beach City Public Schools.
