The parents of all students enrolling in Virginia Beach schools will receive copies of the Code of Student Conduct, which was developed to ensure an optimum learning environment for all students and serves as a resource for parents, students, and staff. Virginia Beach City Public Schools strives to ensure that every school maintains classrooms – and related school activities – free of disruptive behavior. Consequences for students who do not support an optimum school environment are clearly outlined in the booklet.
Parents are asked to review the booklet with their child, sign the Parent Acknowledgement Form , and return it to their child’s school by
September 14, 2007.
Plans call for the booklets to be distributed to students at the schools within the first week of school. Individual school schedules for distribution will vary; however, booklets should be received no later than September 7. Parents should call their child’s school if they have not received a copy of the Code of Student Conduct by that date.
It is with parents’ involvement that students will achieve academic success in an environment where they feel safe and secure. For more information, please call Mr. Michael McGee, Director, Office of Student Leadership at 757.263.2020. |
