Snow Make-Up Days Scheduled for
Virginia Beach City Public Schools' Students

Virginia Beach Schools Superintendent Tim Jenney announced today that Monday, January 21, and Friday, January 25, 2002 will be the make-up days for student instruction. The make-up days are a result of school closures on January 3 and 4 due to the area's recent snowstorm.

A detailed description of the format for the make up days for student instruction in the elementary, middle, and high school level follows:

High School: Friday, January 18 and Monday, January 21 will be full days of instruction. Exams will be held on Tuesday, January 22 through Friday, January 25. Early dismissal for students will take place Tuesday - Friday.

Middle School: The two days are the same as high schools with the exception that there will be early dismissal for students on Thursday, January 24 and Friday, January 25.

Elementary School: The two days are the same as high schools with the exception that there will be early dismissal for students on Friday, January 25.

Administrative offices will follow a regular schedule on January 21 and 25. The Year-Round Calendar remains intact for Bettie F. Williams and Seatack elementary schools.

An updated 2001-2002 school calendar is available on the school division's Web site at www.vbschools.com.
