Parent Resource Center Offers Assistance, Information The Parent Resource Center provides information, assistance, and parent training from the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Office of Programs for Exceptional Children. The Center is located in The Laskin Road Annex, 1413 Laskin Road, and is staffed by a special educator and a parent of a child with disabilities. They are available to answer questions about school division services for students with special needs and can be reached by phone at 757.263.2066, on a walk-in basis, or by making an appointment for a conference. The Parent Resource Center also houses a specialty library with more than 7,000 books and videos on disability issues and instructional strategies, and offers free workshops on a variety of topics. Parent Resource Center services are designed primarily to assist parents of children with disabilities, but anyone with an interest in special needs programming may call or visit the center.
