COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Soliciting Funds or Sales

  1. Solicitations on School Premises and Work Sites
    1. Any employee or group of employees seeking to sell merchandise to other employees or students must first receive approval from the principal or the supervisor of the work site.
    2. Principals and supervisors will evaluate such requests according to the following criteria:
      1. Relevancy and benefit to the office or work site function;
      2. Potential for interference with normal work schedules;
      3. Safety factors; and
      4. Conflict of Interests.
    3. Upon receipt of permission, individuals or groups may sell merchandise so long as solicitation does not interfere with routine performance of duties.
  2. Community-Wide Solicitations

    Any employee or student organization seeking to engage in a fund-raising project or solicitation in the community-at-large must first receive approval from the Superintendent or designee. The Superintendent or designee will evaluate such requests according to the following criteria:

    1. Purpose (to include allocation of funds);
    2. Appropriateness of the fund-raising activities;
    3. Potential competition with private sector enterprises;
    4. Schedule of other community-wide fund raising events; and
    5. Potential to raise funds.

    Permission to solicit shall not imply endorsement of the project or solicitation by the School Board.
