INSTRUCTION

Textbooks
  1.   Adoption

    All textbooks used in the school division must be adopted by the School Board in accordance with regulations established by the Virginia Board of Education. All supplemental textbooks shall have the approval of the Superintendent or a designee prior to use in the classroom.

    In addition to staff, the Superintendent may appoint parents and students to textbook screening committees to assist in recommendations for the adoption of textbooks in the division.

  2.   Free Textbooks

    The Superintendent is authorized to establish a system providing free textbooks to all students.

  3. Sale of Textbooks

    Textbooks may be sold at the retail price approved by the Virginia Board of Education.
