SCHOOL BOARD BYLAWS

Special Meetings

Special meetings may be held whenever the Board in session may decide, at the call of the chairman, on the request of the Superintendent of schools with the concurrence of the chairman, or on request of three School Board members in writing to the chairman and the clerk of the School Board, provided all members receive reasonable notice of the time and purpose of the meeting. No business shall be transacted at any special meeting of the School Board which does not come within the purposes set forth in the call for the meeting unless all members of the School Board are present, and there is a unanimous agreement to consider additional items of business.

Notice of the date, time, and place of special meetings shall be given to the public by the clerk as required by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. Unless exempt,one copy of all materials furnished the Board members for the special meeting shall be made available to the public by the clerk as required by law.
