Virginia Beach Education Foundation grant application deadlines almost here
Teachers, do you have a new and imaginative initiative designed to help your students learn and excel? If so, why not apply for a 2012-13 Building Futures Grant? You can earn an award of up to $1,000 to fund your program to use next school year. But, if you are interested, you'd better hurry. The Building Futures Grant Application DEADLINE of July 17 is looming.
This Building Futures Grant application deadline has been moved up from its previous date of early October. With grants awarded during the summer, teachers will have their funding earlier in the school year and as a result will be able to initiate their award-winning programs sooner. In fact, plans call for grant funds to be distributed to schools as early as September 7, 2012.
And don't forget the Education Foundation also sponsors a second grant opportunity, the Schoolwide Grant. Schools can apply for a grant ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 to fund innovative and creative school initiatives designed to enhance student learning and achievement. However, the Schoolwide Grant application DEADLINE is also right around the corner. Applications are due on MAY 18. So, if you are interested in applying, time is definitely short!
Applications for these Education Foundation grant opportunities are available on www.vbcps.com under “Hot Topics.” If you have any questions, please call (757) 263-1069 or email Education Foundation coordinator Debbie Thomas.
