The Advanced Technology Center sponsored its annual Breakfast for middle and high school counselors on August 26. Counselors had the opportunity to tour the facility and participate in a field trip to the Classroom on the Mall (at Pembroke Mall). All Ocean Lakes Elementary School’s students, faculty and staff honored the funeral procession for fallen service member and hometown hero Lt. Michael Johnson, who recently lost his life in Afghanistan. The procession passed by Ocean Lakes on its way to Dam Neck at 1:15 p.m. and students and staff alike held hands over hearts as a sign of respect.
