Kindergarten Registration

Our Door is Open for the Next Kindergarten Class!

Registration will be conducted at all elementary schools
(except Old Donation Center).

If your child will be five years old on or before September 30, 2004, you are invited to register your child during the school division’s parent/pupil open house at your neighborhood school.

You are encouraged to bring your future kindergartner to participate in a variety of activities planned at each school.


Please bring the following to registration:
• proof of residence/home address • physical examination report
• certified birth certificate • current immunization report
• your child’s social security number • two emergency contact phone numbers

To determine your child’s assigned school for kindergarten, please visit our “School Locator/Map Center” or call your neighborhood school. If you have any questions about kindergarten, you may contact your neighborhood school.

Plan on attending our open house Thursday, April 29, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. to learn about kindergarten registration.

Rising Sixth-Graders
Hepatitis B Vaccinations Required

All students, who were born on or after January 1, 1994, are required to have the Hepatitis B vaccine series. Additionally, all students, who entered sixth grade on or after July 1, 2001, and the succeeding grades in the years thereafter, must have received the Hepatitis B series (i.e., grades seven, eight, nine, etc.).

Documentation of the month/day/year that the series of three (3) immunizations has been received must be provided to the school prior to the first day of the 2003-2004 school year. Failure to provide this documentation to your child's school can result in exclusion of the student from school attendance.

The Hepatitis B immunizations are available from private physicians, military clinics, and the Virginia Beach Health Department.
