Adult Learning Center Online Registration Registration for classes
taught through the Adult Learning Center (ALC) can now be conducted online
via the center’s Web
site. This new procedure, which expands the current means of registering
for courses, allows individuals 18 years and older to electronically enroll,
pay, and receive confirmation of a course through the Internet. As a result
of this new feature, registration can now be conveniently completed 24
hours a day, seven days a week. In order to register for an ALC course, registrants must have a student ID number. First-time students of the ALC must follow the online directions to choose their own student ID. Students who have previously enrolled in a course, prior to the distribution of the 2004 Spring/Summer Course Catalogue, received a student ID number in the mail. In-person registration at the ALC is required for students enrolling in pre-Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED)/GED classes or English as Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The ALC is located at 4160 Virginia Beach Boulevard. The ALC offers a comprehensive educational program to the community. The nearly 500 courses offered in the 2004 Spring/Summer Course Catalogue cover a wide range of subject areas such as art, business, math, trade skills, workforce training, literacy programs, and foreign languages. For individuals who do not have access to the Internet, registration can be conducted through the ALC, by fax – 757-473-5098, in-person at the Center’s Virginia Beach Boulevard location, or by mail (Adult Learning Center, 4160 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452). Office hours for the Adult Learning Center are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (Monday-Friday) and 6-8 p.m. (Monday-Thursday).  In today's high-tech
environment, an educated workforce is required to sustain Adults 18 years or older, who have not earned a high school diploma, can possibly earn a GED in a much shorter period of time through the Adult Learning Center.
