Community
Partners See how community partners helped prepare students to start a new school year off on the right foot. Partners in Virginia Beach schools sponsor Spirit Nights, support mentoring and academic programs, provide job shadowing experiences and continue to find ways to meet the needs of students and staff throughout the division. Community partners continue to flourish in Virginia Beach.
School
Volunteers Learn how volunteers are lending their expertise and skills to provide students with valuable resources. Whether they are helping to refurbish classrooms and outdoor learning areas, serving as mentors or guest speakers or assisting with the VBCPS Beach Bags program to ensure students in need have food on the weekend, community volunteers are making a positive difference in our schools!
Parent
Involvement Take a look at ways parents are actively engaged in their children's education. They are attending school math and literacy nights, computer technology sessions and participating in other meaningful activities that help to promote student success.
Education
Foundation See how the Virginia Beach Education Foundation is supporting students as they award teacher and school wide grants at the annual Teacher Grants Improve Futures (TGIF) event. It's also time to mark your calendars and plan to attend the Fourth Annual Pearls of Wisdom Oyster Roast. Not only will you have a GREAT time, but ALL proceeds benefit students in Virginia Beach schools!
Giving
Back Check out how students and staff join with the community to find ways ways to support those in need.
Connecting our Military Learn about some of the initiatives VBCPS has designed to help our military families become more connected to schools to promote student success. We are quite fortunate; our military-connected community is happy, even eager to support our schools. Take a look.
