The House Students Built (THSB) Celebrates 7th House Project

The Education Foundation’s 7th House Students Built, located at 816 13th Street in Virginia Beach, was unveiled this spring and is currently “For Sale.” More than 40 businesses worked with instructors and students from the Technical and Career Education Center and the Advanced Technology Center to build the two-story, three-bedroom, 1,500 square-foot house. The project would not be possible without the community’s involvement. “This labor of love comes from the heart and soul of people who treated this project as if it were their own business and helped these students as if they were their own apprentices,” said Charlie Cortellini, VBEF President. “Over 40 businesses contributed their time, materials and have mentored the students on how to prepare, install, measure, line up and hook up all the materials to properly build this house.”
