McAuliffe and Northam made a special visit to White Oaks Elementary School to learn more about the division's Breakfast in the Classroom program as well as to meet with volunteers from Virginia Beach Reads.

VBCPS participates in military educational symposium

Fourteen school divisions from across Virginia, including VBCPS, took part in “Supporting Military-Connected Students: Resources to Guide Successful School Transitions," an event focused on meeting the needs of military students. Read.

Ask questions before your teen needs the answers

Your teen's friends thought it would be fun to paint "Class of 2018" on the school wall, and she joined in. What was she thinking? Probably not a lot. As teens seek new experiences, they don't always think through the consequences. Help your teen think ahead. Ask her questions. "Do you think there might be drinking at the party? Could you and your friends do something else on Saturday night?" Read more here.
