100 percent of Virginia Beach schools projected to earn state accreditation

Preliminary results are in for the state Standards of Learning (SOL) tests. VBCPS is projecting that all of its schools will earn accreditation for the 2017-2018 school year. Accreditation is awarded by the Virginia Department of Education each year to schools that meet or exceed the state’s benchmarks for student achievement. Read

This weekend, Aug. 4–6, will be the annual tax-free weekend in Virginia. During this three-day sales tax holiday, shoppers can buy qualifying items, including school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness supplies, without paying sales tax. Read
