Cooking up a science lesson

Fifth-graders paired up with Culinary Arts students from the Technical and Career Education Center to learn about the role science plays in baking. They also learned their way around the kitchen, which led to a tasty competition. Watch.

Connect

Set aside 10 minutes of special time with you every day for each child. Call it "Hannah time" or "Ethan time," so they know it's all about them. One day, they pick what to do. The next day, you pick. But focus all your attention on your child, with all your heart.

What inspires me? I was just walking down the hall and looking at the kids in the classroom. Just seeing how excited they were and knowing the role that I play here to keep the excitement going. Read
