How to Complete a Summer School Application  
A complete listing of summer school sites and staff schedules is available.

IF YOU ARE A VBCPS EMPLOYEE AND YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT READ THIS:

If you have created an account and submitted an employment application previously through the online application system, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Current Employee Login page and sign in with your Username and Password.  If you are unable to recall your password please use the Forgot your password? feature found in the upper right corner of the login page.
  2. At the top of the first page of the application, Current Employee Profile, and beside the field Applicant Type, make sure that Summer School appears.  If not, select Change Type, then check Summer School, click Save, and then click Next.
  3. Complete the additional fields for Summer School found on the Employment Preferences page: click Save, Next, and then Logout.

IF YOU ARE A VBCPS EMPLOYEE AND YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT:

  1. Go to the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Current Employee Login page and select Create New Account.
  2. Select the Summer School Applicant type and complete the application.
NON-VBCPS EMPLOYEES
(including current substitutes)

IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT READ THIS:

If you have created an account and submitted an employment application previously through the online application system, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your application with your Username and Password.  If you are unable to recall your password please use the Forgot your password? feature found in the upper right corner of the login page. 
  2. Go to the first page of your application – General Information – and scroll down to the bottom right side of this page.
  3. Beside the field Applicant Type make sure that Summer School appears.  If not, select Change Type, then check Summer School, click Save, and then click Next. 
  4. Complete the additional fields for Summer School found on the Employment Preferences page: click Save, Next, and then Logout.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT:

If you do not have an account, you must first create a new account and then complete and submit a Summer School Application.
   
Available Job Opportunities and types of employment applications with Virginia Beach City Public Schools are classified as follows:
  • Administrative - Includes certified administrators such
    as principals, asst principals, central office
  • Certified – Includes positions requiring a teaching license and psychologists, school social workers, occupational/physical therapists
  • Support / Classified  - Includes all non-teaching, non-administrative applicants including bus drivers, bus assistants, custodians, and cafeteria workers
  • Substitute – Includes all substitute positions
  • Supplemental - Includes all coaching, athletic trainer, security/police officer, and tutor positions
