School Breakfast - Power Up the New Year!

By eating school breakfast, students can power up to become superheroes themselves! School breakfast provides 25% of the recommended daily allowance of protein, calcium and iron, vitamins A and C and calories for students as well as meeting the federal nutrition guidelines based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Research has shown that students who eat breakfast at school:

  • Score better on standardized tests
  • Have fewer health issues
  • Behave better in class
  • Decreases tardiness and absenteeism

Research also shows students who skip breakfast rarely make up for missed nutrients later in the day – skipping breakfast could also affect the after school activities that really love! So, have your child ‘Power-Up with a School Breakfast’ – it is really the most important meal of the day!
