Student Testimonials

When asked, students provided refreshing, objective candor indicated in the following:

It's cool to interact with different schools.
I get to use the technology.
Sometimes it can take forever for the teacher to "get" to you.
Technical problems/Technology isn't clear/random tech problems.
It was difficult to horse around too much since anyone could be watching.
The experiments were neat because of the document camera.
I don't get to talk to the teacher privately.
Adding other schools is just like overcrowded classes.
I didn't like that the teacher had the ability to zap you off the screen.
I feel uncomfortable answering questions while people I don't know are watching.
The camera zooming in on you to answer (a question) and you're not sure you have the right one (answer).
Watch out for the microphone.
Continue using it (distance learning technology)-it's very useful and effective.
The best thing is you really do learn things from distance learning-you are kinda forced to pay attention.
It was fun.
I'd like to meet the other class in person.
I'm used to raising my hand instead of pressing a button.
The other class is really smart and I learn things from them.
I respond more because I love being on camera!.
I like it because it is sooo different! I've never seen something like this.
You are on camera which I love! And you are expected to act more mature.
You have a teacher, a pen, a pencil, paper, and a chalkboard. You learn, they teach and it's the basically the same thing to me.
Well, it's just odd. (Tapestry of Knowledge, 2003, p. 178-179)
