"This Academy has been a life changing experience that has influenced my global perspective and awareness, making me a citizen of a worldwide community of people who are the earth's future leaders." Heather McCormic |
Being part of the family atmosphere at Tallwood High overall has been one of the best experiences of my life, and the Global Studies and World Languages Academy leaves me with that many more unforgettable memories. From International Careers Freshman year to Senior projects, the education inside and outside of the classroom is in a league of its own.
I have found that the unique and well-rounded set of Academy courses has assisted me in choosing exactly what I aspire to do with my life. Because of two years in Modern Standard Arabic classes and the National Youth Leadership Forum: National Security that I attended in the Fall of 2007, I have been inspired to be a diplomat to countries in Northern Africa and the Middle East.
My teachers have done nothing less than support my every effort in the school, from doing well on the next test to dreaming "big" and applying to my first choice college (The College of William and Mary), which I was accepted to in December. The diverse group of students attending the Global Studies and World Languages Academy have helped me in learning how to network and create lifelong friendships that will last forever, making my time in the Academy the best opportunity I could have wanted for my high school career.
