The Middle School Program (Grades 6-8)

In Virginia Beach, there are currently 15 middle schools housing sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students. Typically, middle school students take six courses per year. The academic core includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, and health and physical education. Each year, parent/student course information documents outlining expectations for each course are sent home with students. Elective/exploratory courses may be added. The required courses are designed around specific content and skill development.
