BAND 6 (MU 9230)
ORCHESTRA 6 (MU 9235)

In these courses, attention is focused on introductory music fundamentals, technical achievement, and acquisition of performance and rehearsal skills through exposure to a variety of literature.

BAND 7 (MU 9252)
ORCHESTRA 7 (MU 9251)

These courses are a continuation of the technical training started in the beginning class. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of skills necessary to meet high standards of music performance. The student is exposed to a wide variety of band and orchestral literature.

BAND 8 (MU 9253)
ORCHESTRA 8 (MU 9241)

In these yearlong courses, students are acquainted with the great heritage of symphonic literature and are given the opportunity to develop high standards of general musicianship. Emphasis is placed on artistic performance commensurate with the maturation level and experience of the group. Performances are an important part of the group activities. After-school rehearsals and performances may be required of students. The director's approval is required.

CHORUS 6 (MU 9269)

Emphasis in Chorus 6 is placed on developing fundamental vocal and choral techniques and on acquiring skills essential to accurate interpretation of a musical score. Students are exposed to a wide variety of vocal literature and are provided with an opportunity to explore and develop their abilities in music.

CHORUS 7 (MU 9254)

Chorus 7 is designed for those students who wish to extend their knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of vocal music. Emphasis is placed on continuing the technical training achieved in the beginning chorus. Students are exposed to a wide variety of vocal literature and are provided with the opportunity to explore and develop their special abilities in music.

GIRLS CHORUS 8 and/or MIXED CHORUS 8 (MU 9285)

Emphasis is placed on developing fundamental vocal and choral techniques and the acquisition of skills essential to accurate interpretation of a musical score. Students are exposed to a wide variety of vocal literature and are provided with an opportunity to explore and develop their abilities in music.

CONCERT CHORUS 8/VOCAL ENSEMBLE 8 (MU 9286)

Emphasis is placed on high standards of performance and the development of critical attitudes. Students become acquainted with the great heritage of choral literature and are given the opportunity to develop a high standard of general musicianship.
