The High School Program (Grades 9-12)
HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Grades 9-12

The secondary health and physical education program assists students in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and appreciation fundamental to healthful living.

The ninth- and tenth-grade courses complement instruction from previous grades to provide a sequential, comprehensive health and physical education program. The ultimate goal of health instruction in these courses is to prepare students to assume lifetime responsibility for personal, family, and community health. Physical education instruction is designed to help students develop physical efficiency, sportsmanship, and worthwhile recreational skills for lifelong fitness and enjoyment.

Adapted physical education is provided for students certified by a doctor as being unable to participate in the regular program.

Elective physical education courses in grades 11 and 12 provide valuable opportunities for students to pursue their interests in developing personal physical fitness and proficiency in individual/team sports.
