If your child attended either Bettie F. Williams or Newtown elementary during the 2006-2007 school year, please read the school assignment list for the 2007-2008 school year below. If you are new to the area, moved to your current address after June 14, 2007, or have a child entering kindergarten, please use the school division’s School Locator/Map Center or call Bettie F. Williams (757.473.5033) or Newtown (757.473.5017) elementary schools to determine your school assignment.
School Assignments 2007-2008 School Year Effective September 4, 2007
- All first grade students will report to the same school they attended during the
2006-2007 school year.
- All second and third grade students will report to Newtown Elementary.
- All fourth and fifth grade students will report to Bettie F. Williams Elementary.
School Assignments Upon Completion of Newtown and Diamond Springs elementary schools (early 2008)
- All kindergarten and first grade students attending Bettie F. Williams or Newtown elementary schools will report to Diamond Springs Elementary.
- All second and third grade students will report to the new Newtown Elementary.
- All fourth and fifth grade students will remain at Bettie F. Williams Elementary.
